Eilidh Joins The Team
Hello I’m Eilidh Hamilton and I have just taken up post as the new Business Development Manager for the Tomintoul & Glenlivet Development Trust. I am really looking forward to starting this role having just graduated with an MSc in Heritage and Cultural Tourism Management from Edinburgh Napier University. From my studies and previous work experience at Edinburgh Castle, I now have a particular interest in the Scottish tourism industry as well as a passion for Scottish heritage and so I am really excited about taking on the challenge of developing the Museum and Visitor Information Centre into a sustainable community businesses as I feel there is a lot of potential with this project for preserving and telling the story of the local heritage and for bringing more tourism to the area.
Moreover, I am a keen traveller and have been fortunate enough to travel all over the world from South America to New Zealand, backpacking and staying in a variety of hostels along the way. I have also worked as a Scottish Tour Guide staying in different hostels in Scotland and therefore gained a real insight into hostelling both at home and abroad. I am now eager to use this knowledge and experience to work together with the team and volunteers at the Smugglers Hostel in developing the hostel into a year round business.
Having just moved to the area, I also look forward to getting to know everyone in the local community and working with you all in order to take these projects forward to create sustainable businesses thus developing a vibrant future for the Tomintoul & Glenlivet area.
